Latisse is the first prescription eyelash growth product approved by the FDA, which can enhance eyelashes and make the fuller, thicker and longer. Many treatment providers are now using the same Latisse medspa treatment to create thicker eyebrow growth as well.
The active ingredient in bimatoprost 0.03%, which is a breakthrough formula designed to dramatically improve the appearance of lashes and brows. Latisse works consistently and remarkably, with results seen within four weeks and achieving optimal results at 16 weeks.
Motykie Medical Spa, led by board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie, provides Latisse for thicker eyebrows to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding communities.
Safety
The FDA approved Latisse as a prescription treatment for eyelashes more than 15 years ago. It has been safely used since then by thousands of patients to achieve enhanced eyelash appearance. The same treatment is now used with equally safe results to create thicker eyebrows. However, it is vital that the patient applies Latisse solution as directed, and receives the treatment from a qualified and reliable medspa treatment provider.
How Does Latisse Work?
Latisse works from the inside out. As treatment progress, the patient will be able to notice gradually changes in length, thickness and darkness of the brow hair. In about four months, the full effects of Latissee would be established. The patient will be required to apply the treatment once a day in precise quantity with the help of the appropriate brush provided with the medication.
Patients should know that the results will not start showing overnight, and if the treatment is stopped in the middle of the course, the growth of brows will stop too. Therefore, even when the patient begins to see initial results at the end of first month, they should continue applying the topical treatment each night and follow the directions for best results.
Guidelines for Application
Before Applying
Before the patient applies Latisse each night, they should thoroughly clean the face, and remove any makeup, contact lenses, and any other facial care products.
Prepare the Applicator
The patient should gently remove an applicator from its tray. Then, holding the sterile applicator horizontally, they should place one drop of medication on the area of the applicator closest to the tip but not on the tip.
Apply to the Skin
Once the medication is placed on the applicator, the patient should immediately draw the applicator carefully along the skin at the base of the eyebrow as directed by the treatment provider. This area should feel lightly moist without runoff.
Blot Any Excess
Any excess solution beyond the brow should be blotted with a tissue. It is important to prevent excess solution from run to the area below the brows or over the eyelids.
Dispose of Applicator
The patient should dispose of the applicator after single use, and repeat the procedure for the opposite brow. New sterile applicator should be used to help minimize contamination risk.
